Children’s Ministry

 

Linda Dykstra is the coordinator of Kids of the Kingdom, our learning program for children age 5 to grade 5.  Children stay in the service for the first 30 minutes and then are released to their program.

 

Tracy Staring is the coordinator of the Sonbeams program for children age 3 and 4.   Children are welcome in this program from the beginning of the service.

 

Connie Dryfhout is the coordinator for the babies (birth to walking) and toddlers (walking to age 3).  Children are welcome in this program from the beginning of the service.

 

 

Welcoming Ministries

 

Welcoming each other to our gathering and making sure that new comers and other visitors are made to feel part of our community is a very important part of the Sunday ministries. 

 

?? is the coordinator of the greeters.  These folks are the first smiles we see on our way in on Sunday morning.  Greeters offer a welcome hand shake and hearty smile and help direct visitors to the nursery or help them connect with others.

 

Tom Ennema is the coordinator of the ushers, who distribute the bulletin and assist with other duties during the service, helping to facilitate our worship. 

 

Stephanie Devey is the coordinator of the hospitality ministry, which prepares and serves coffee and juice after the service.  Although these people serve behind the scenes, their service gives us all an opportunity to connect and relax following the service.

 

Worship Ministries

 

 

The Celebration Teams are groups of musicians who lead us in worship, inviting us to enter into God’s presence and bring him our praise in word and song.  These teams are coordinated by our worship leaders.  These are:  Floyd Brobbel, Colleen Butcher, Guy Couture, Kenn Hughes, Grace Moes, Dave Raakman.  Contact Grace Moes, if you would like more information about the Celebration Teams.

 

Following the service, Prayer Servants are available to pray with you for specific needs, helping us to share each others burdens and helping us bring our requests before God.  Grace Koene, is the coordinator of the prayer servants.

 

On the first Sunday of each month, we celebrate Communion together.  ?? is the coordinator of the Communion preparation team.

 

There are many other aspects of worship that take place on Sunday mornings.  Tony Dryfhout is the coordinator of the projection operators who run the visual elements of the service such as song lyrics and video presentations.  ?? assists in the visual media area with the development of multi-media elements of the service. 

 

Dance and the expression of our worship through movement is a significant part of our Sunday gatherings, especially for the children.  Belma Vardy is a worship dance instructor and facilitator.  Classes and training are held at various times during the year.
